Review + Stream: Dosem – City Cuts Remixes (5/5)

Last year Dosem came out with his last album titles ‘City Cuts’ on Suara. Well we just received the remixes and they are sounding impeccable. Billed to be the first part of the remixes, we can’t wait what is in store for us later!

Dosem – Message (Coyu Remix)

The first remix of the EP is taken care of by none other than head honcho Coyu himself. Lately Coyu has been on fire with his remixes especially when it comes to ‘Barcelona’ influenced tech house. The groove and that addictive funk in this track are omnipresent and maintained as much as the original. With tribal drums as the main attraction; it leaves the listener in a state of constant revelry and vigor. The thumping synth stabs and the constant rhythm breaks makes Coyu’s version a tech-house masterpiece.

Dosem- Expression (Uto Karem Remix)

Uto Karem delivers one of the finest remixes yet. At first the track starts off with a very chilled out intro with classic tops, high hats and a Chicago house styled vocal sample. However this is when the track gets super energetic and visceral. Uto’s version consists of a killer groove with a heavy tribal house influenced bassline and repetitive compelling vox samples that takes the track into a twisted journey creating a very fresh and unique sounding track.

Dosem – City Pulse (Christian Smith and Wehbba Remix)

When Chistian Smith and Wehbba come together, one can assume it is a tronic takeover. It is quite evident in this track that the two friends have delivered a remix, which is right up their alley. Perfect voice samples combined with those trademark drum arrangement; has ‘Euphoric’ written all over it. A vibrant yet energetic track, this remix can only be classified as a techno monster.
