Review + Stream – Harvey Mckay – Glasgow Safari EP (4/5)

Harvery Mckay, Scotland’s fresh Techno prodigy releases one of the most anticipated EP since I first heard these tracks on various radio shows. Harvey has combined rhythmic vocal hooks with extremely precise synth stabs that gives this EP its groovy soul. ‘The Pure’ is probably the most refined track in the four track EP with a very housey influence. A Classic Mckay production.

‘Kill Switch’ is that typical Drumcode release which is produced for only one reason. Total annihilation of a crowd filled dancefloor. With pounding basslines, poignant hooks and a devastating kick; this is going to be played by every Top DJ this summer. One would be daft to leave this one out.

‘Trick Baby’ leans more towards the house vibe with a very rhythmic stab and groovy vocal samples and skipping tempos. A new wave of techno, we see Drumcode adhering to; especially when most Drumcode fans expect hard knocking techno from the veteran label.
