Having lived in Dubai for a little over 5 years, I’m glad to have the opportunity to bring our readers attention to this fairly liberal and safest cities to live in the Arab world. With a vibrant night life, Dubai boasts of venues catering to all kinds of music. Over the last couple of years the music industry has taken firm roots and is promoting quality stuff covering various genres. This album is an alliance of talents old and new in this city who have put together some brilliant tunes set forth to release on the 20th of July.

Bootleg Social’s mastermind, Tobie Allen moved to Dubai in 2014. After seeing what the producers of the city had to offer, he curated a platform for these vivid sounds to be showcased internationally on his label. Ma’ana : Sounds of Dubai is a result of a year’s worth of auditioning, planning and execution. From 65 submissions which were extensively scrutinized and thoughtfully selected, 21 tracks made the cut. The album mirrors the soul of dance music making its presence very evident in the city’s night life which is drawing some of the biggest international acts by tenfold. It includes works by Andy Buchan, Arcade 82, Conan Liquid, Deep Hertz, Ilona Maras, Matthew Charles, Maxim Verkhoturtsev, Nick Hussey, Raxon, Ray Soo, Sam Farsio, Smokingroove, Shaun Warner, Chris Rayner, Ted Numan, Tobie Allen, Tom Chubb and Wisqo.

The album has an array of sounds ranging from Nu-Disco, House to Tech House and Techno and it would be hard to call a single track as the best. Some of my favorites are You Must be Mine, Breeze, Most of Me, Dictator with it meaningful vocals, the groovy techno number Genco and Rollerblade though most tracks have made it to my collection. Every track has captured the essence of its maker and will make you tap your feet. Go on, take a sneak peek to see what’s in store for you.
