Elevate meets Terminal M Records. There’s a distinction in Pig & Dan’s and Monika’s styles but collectively they bring all their skills to the table to create, what I can simply call – techno genius.

They have been termed as a ‘dream-team’, and aptly so. Pig & Dan collaborate with Monika Kruse for 2 track release titled ‘Light Meets Dark’, which is one of those releases that is edgy and raw, yet finds a balance between new and old techno sounds.

First up comes ‘Into The Light’, which builds the tension slowly with whispery male vocals. You’ll hear a nice deep bass line, which gradually rises into the crescendo that is then taken over by moodier and darker elements. Gently the melodic elements creep in, which surprisingly are reminiscent of the older ‘80s like sound. It comes together as a melodic, euphoric slice of techno, which is a stark difference from the second track off the release.Screen Shot 2015-05-07 at 1.54.10 PM

Encapsulating the more primeval elements is “Don’t Let The Shadows In” – which sounds like it comes straight off one of Berghain’s extended party sets. At the core of the track is a more industrial-like vibe, and the melodies are a subtle addition in the background, Together with shadowy vocals that are found at key moments of the track, it gives off a distinct 3am like vibe.

When it comes to pushing the envelope, this multinational trio has put their collective synergies together to create two different yet perfectly well-thought out tracks that will be on heavy rotation during the summer, and will be party favourites during the upcoming festival season.
