Karlos, AKA Soulrack is a DJ/Producer descending from Spain, but has had incredible intrigue and inspiration from the likes of Detroit and Chicago house music. This is very apparent in his forthcoming EP “Zener” being released on refused. on November 11th. Soulrack does not hold back when it comes to hard rolling basslines and the use of roland 303’s in this EP. The tracks have the vast power and stamina to shake the beams of a warehouse and penetrate your techno souls. Soulrack is undoubtably a name that we can expect to and hear a lot more from, with his flawless and raw productions making waves across the globe. This will be Souldrack’s second release on refused. following a track realease on the recent accept. v 01 compilation beginning of October.
Soulrack’s “Zener” EP offers 3 masterful techno tracks that accentuate his influence in Detroit and Chicago house music, while encompassing his own Spanish roots. The First track Zener has a hard pulsing bassline, and a high energy raw beat to get things moving. The second track “Endless 303’s” is exactly that. This track is a tasteful arrangement of the beloved roland 303 bassline, as it builds and fills the track with raw authentic techno goodness. Lastly “G-Force” goes a little more into a techy groove with electrifying hi-hats and a tantalizing bassline.
Karlos AKA Soulrack, from Spain, has had incredible impact within the electronic music scene to date. In the 90’s he decided to start DJing and producing due to his immerse interest in techno, with a special interest in the house music coming out of Chicago and Detroit. Since then, karlos has continued to grow as a DJ, Producer and on the business side has grown to love doing A&R for his own label, Cray1 Labworks.
Karlos’ style ranges from early American house, the the melodies of the Motor City producers like Model 500, Juan Atkins, and Kenny Larkins while continuing to encompass the cutting edge sounds of todays modern house and techno and continuing to keep his focus to the links of the dance floor.
Soulrack has released on labels such as Tenax, Bla Bla, AMAM, Memento, Agile, in addition to his own Label Cray1 Labworks. In Soul rack’s sets we can expect to hear a range of tracks from old school house to new generation tech-house and techno.
